dc.descriptionSummary. The article describes the problem of orofacial pain syndrome in the context of international experience, as the number of patients with post-traumatic lesions in the head and neck region is expected to increase against the background of military battles in Ukraine, complicated floating of odontogenic inflammatory processes, neoplasms in the maxillofacial region, active development of orthodontic treatment methods in the maxillofacial complex, which could leads to changes in tissues and may have an effect on local nerve structures. The aim of the study – to determine the modern terminological base that characterizes the syndrome based on the data of international scientific research, to conduct an analysis of the updated international classification of types of pain and the classification of headache in their relationship. Materials and Methods. The analysis and generalization of data from modern scientific sources on the topic of research, terminology, classification, approaches to diagnosis and treatment of patients with orofacial pain syndrome was carried out. Results and Discussion. As a result of scientific research, the main diagnostic units associated with the occurrence of SOFB were established, and modern approaches to their diagnosis and treatment were characterized. The urgency of the researched problem gives reason, according to the authors, to consider the feasibility of introducing the subject of SOFB into the training program of future masters of dentistry in the context of a multidisciplinary approach. Conclusions. The problem of diagnosis and treatment of orofacial pain is relevant in the practice of a dental surgeon. Modern approaches to diagnosis and treatment require the development of an appropriate protocol in Ukraine, as the number of patients with post-traumatic lesions in the head and neck region is expected to increase against the background of military operations. It is appropriate to consider the introduction of the topic of SOFB to the training program of future masters of dentistry in the context of a multidisciplinary approach.en-US

У статті розкрито проблему синдрому орофаціального болю (СОФБ) у контексті міжнародного досвіду, оскільки очікувано збільшується кількість пацієнтів із посттравматичними ураженнями в ділянці голови і шиї на тлі військових дій в Україні, ускладненим перебігом одонтогенних запальних процесів, новоутвореннями у щелепно-лицевій ділянці, активним поширенням ортодонтичних методів лікування в зубощелепному комплексі, що передбачає зміни у тканинах, і може мати вплив на локальні  нервові структури. Мета дослідження – на основі даних міжнародних наукових досліджень визначити сучасну термінологічну базу, що характеризує синдром, актуальну міжнародну класифікацію видів болю і класифікації головного болю у їх взаємозв’язку. Матеріали і методи. Проведено аналіз й узагальнення даних сучасних наукових джерел з теми дослідження, термінологію, класифікацію, підходи до діагностики і лікування пацієнтів із синдромом орофаціального болю. Результати досліджень та їх обговорення. У результаті наукового пошуку встановлено основні діагностичні одиниці, які пов’язані з виникненням СОФБ, охарактеризовано сучасні підходи до їх діагностики і лікування. Актуальність досліджуваної проблеми дає підстави, на думку авторів, розглянути доцільність введення до навчальної програми підготовки майбутніх магістрів стоматології тематику СОФБ у контексті мультидисциплінарного підходу. Висновки. Проблема діагностики і лікування орофаціального болю є актуальною у практиці хірурга-стоматолога. Сучасні підходи до діагностики і лікування потребують розробки відповідного протоколу в Україні, оскільки очікувано збільшується кількість пацієнтів із посттравматичними ураженнями в ділянці голови і шиї на тлі військових дій. Доцільно розглянути введення до навчальної програми підготовки майбутніх магістрів стоматології тематику СОФБ у контексті мультидисциплінарного підходу.uk-UA
