The aim of the work: to study basic clinical-epidemiological indices of polytrauma in aspects of mechanisms and circumstances of trauma in patients with polysystemic injuries in late traumatic phase. Materials and Methods. An array of patients with polysystemic and multiple organ damages (114 cases), who had been treated in the Bilche-Zolote Regional Rehabilitation Hospital named after V. H. Vershyhora, for 2010–2019 was analyzed. The main part of the cohort consisted of the males – 61.4 % (n=70) and 38.6 % (n=44) were women. The average age was from 18 to 79 years (the average age was 41.7 years). Results and Discussion. The largest number was victims aged 25–60, people of working age (69.30 %). Persons over the age of 60 made up 10.5 % of the array, and women predominated among them (9 persons or 75.0 %); and under the age of 25–11.40 %. In the group under 25 years of age, the majority were men – 15 persons (65.20 %). It should be indicated that traffic road incidences were ranked first as the cause of polytrauma 40.40 % of cases, the falling was ranked second (34.20 %). Those two causes contributed to polysystemic injury for old and elderly patients equally (50.0 % of cases for both). Most of patients in late trauma period had injury associations of two anatomic-functional regions (76.32 % or 87 cases), three – 21.93 % (25 cases), four anatomic-functional regions – 1.75 % (2 cases). Conclusions. Traffic accidents were the main cause of polytraumatic injuries. We observe clear sex differences among patients in late trauma period: males predominate in the age category till 25 years old, in older period this difference are insignificant, while in group of patients after 60 – women predominate. Distribution of patients according to number of injured anatomical and functional areas is the following: most of them 76.32 % – had two damaged regions. The most frequent combination was the associations of injuries of head and skeletal trauma in females and males – 65.90 % and 77.14 % (first rank place). Head, thorax and skeletal trauma associations were ranked second in 22.72 % (10) women and 17.14 % (12) men.en-US
