dc.descriptionAbstract. The article presents a system of post-text exercises and tasks that reveal the lexical and semantic possibilities of some medical terms from the field of physical and occupational therapy, dentistry or pharmacy. They are aimed at understanding and creative assimilation of this phenomenon in the process of learning the Ukrainian language (with a professional purposes) and its use in communication. It has been noted that the origin, structure, and functioning of modern medical terminology are characterized by a large volume and diversity. In order to learn professional terminology effectively, first of all, it is necessary to understand it well. For this purpose, along with other types of classroom work, etymological tasks have been introduced. It is emphasized that the paradigmatic connections of language units and systems are most fully realized in the text, therefore, in the practicals textual material is systematically used; it is selected from scientific, journalistic articles or online informational materials of specialized clinics and pharmacies, appropriately bibliographically formatted. Different types of tasks are considered e.g. explain the meaning of the terms highlighted in the text; name the words from the text corresponding to the etymology; using data from the reference, find out the etymology of the terms; select, where possible, Ukrainian counterparts; match the definitions with the corresponding terms; construct terms; among the given words, choose etymologically related ones, explain the meaning, and their practical content, etc. All given practical tasks were tested among the students in the practical classes, heuristic and game elements were noted in the process of their implementation. It has been found out that etymological information actualizes connections with Latin, English, German languages, special clinical disciplines. It has also been established that taking into account information about the origin of medical terms contributes to their meaningful assimilation and use, encourages the search for primary sources, develops interdisciplinary connections, and therefore, in our opinion, it is important to form the foundations of etymological knowledge in Ukrainian language classes (with a professional purposes).en-US

У статті представлено систему післятекстових вправ і завдань, що розкривають лексико-семантичні можливості деяких медичних термінів із галузі фізичної терапії, ерготерапії, стоматології, фармації і спрямовані на розуміння їхньої етимології та творче засвоєння у процесі вивчення української мови (за професійним спрямуванням). Зазначено, що за походженням, структурою, функціонуванням сучасна медична термінологія характеризується великим обсягом і різноманіттям. Для ефективного засвоєння фахових термінів передовсім необхідно забезпечити їхнє добре розуміння. З цією метою на практичному занятті, поруч з іншими видами аудиторної роботи, запроваджено й завдання етимологічної тематики. Наголошено, що парадигматичні зв’язки мовних одиниць і систем найбільш повно реалізуються в тексті, тому під час практичних занять систематично використовуються текстові матеріали, дібрані з наукових, публіцистичних статей або інформаційних блоків спеціалізованих клінік і аптек, відповідним чином оформлені бібліографічно. Розглянуто післятекстові завдання, репрезентовано фактичне наповнення, подекуди надано коментарі або відповіді до вправ. Зазначено, що аналізовані вправи і завдання були апробовані під час практичних занять з української мови (за професійним спрямуванням). Відзначено евристичний та ігровий елементи у процесі розв’язання. Виявлено, що етимологічні відомості актуалізують міжпредметні зв’язки з латинською, англійською, німецькою мовами, спеціальними клінічними дисциплінами. Констатовано, що врахування інформації про походження медичних термінів сприяє їхньому осмисленому засвоєнню і вживанню, спонукає до пошуку першоджерел, розвиває міжпредметні зв’язки, а тому на заняттях з української мови (за професійним спрямуванням) важливо формувати основи етимологічних знань.uk-UA
