THE SPECIFIC ASPECTS OF CARE AND NURSING WORK IN A MULTI-SPECIALTY HEALTHCARE SETTING

Nurses often provide care in various medical facilities and clinics, including multi-specialty ones, which are distinguished by a large number of departments where care is provided to patients with various health problems. In many countries, healthcare institutions differ in terms of their territorial positioning, ways to provide care, material and technical resources, etc.
The aim of the study was to investigate the special aspects of providing care in large multi-specialty medical centers, the special aspects of nursing work and the peculiarities of nursing process in treatment and prevention of various diseases, as well as to investigate the issues of care quality assurance in large multi-specialty medical centers.The nurses in health organizations of medical profile provide health assessments, as well as prevention and treatment of a wide range of medical health problems. Regarding outpatient services, in most cases, nurses provide this type of care in polyclinics/health clinics, which themselves may be part of larger hospitals or operate independently. Some nurses prefer to work in healthcare institutions that include individual departments, such as gynecological, oncological, surgical, etc. Of special significance and challenge is the nursing work in teaching hospitals and clinics, which are involved in academic and research activities in addition to their patient services. Based on this research study, the specific aspects of care in large multi-specialty medical centers have been studied, the specific aspects of work and nursing roles, as well as the peculiarities of nursing process in large multi-specialty medical centers and in effective functioning of the health system have been defined; the modern options for using various methods of disease management in large multi-specialty medical centers have been reviewed and the specific aspects of nursing work in organization and implementation of preventive measures have been studied, as well as the issues of quality of providing medical care in large multi-specialty medical centers have been investigated.
