EFFECTIVE STRATEGY FOR THE PREVENTION OF HEALTHCARE ACQUIRED PNEUMONIA IN ICU SCALE OF CARE
Короткий опис(реферат)
The present study aimed to identify the most effective preventive strategy for Healthcare-Associated Pneumonia (HCAP) in Intensive Care Units (ICUs). Through a systematic review and meta-analysis, sixteen eligible studies were analyzed. The findings revealed that the implementation of a ventilator care bundle demonstrated the highest efficacy in reducing the incidence of HCAP among ICU patients. The components of the ventilator care bundle, including interventions such as elevation of the head of the bed, oral care, and daily sedation interruptions, collectively contributed to a significant reduction in HCAP rates. These results underscore the importance of proactive preventive measures in ICU settings. Recommendations are made to healthcare practitioners, particularly nurses, to prioritize and consistently implement ventilator care bundles as a standard practice. By adhering to these evidence-based interventions, healthcare facilities can mitigate the risk of HCAP and improve patient outcomes in ICU settings, ultimately contributing to enhanced quality of care and patient safety.
