| dc.description.abstract | This study investigates the radiation exposure faced by operating assistant nurses during invasive coronary angiography, a crucial yet understudied area in healthcare. Through qualitative analysis of secondary sources, this thesis explores the risks posed by ionizing radiation, particularly during procedures like coronary angiography, angioplasty and stent placements, which heavily rely on fluoroscopy. The research aims to assess the level of exposure to circulating and monitoring nurses, evaluate the effectiveness of current safety protocols, and identify barriers to compliance. By reviewing the available literature and expert opinions, this study highlights gaps in radiation safety awareness and proposes evidence-based recommendations to reduce risks for operating assistant nurses. The findings contribute to enhancing workplace safety protocols, ensuring better protection for healthcare workers in environments involving radiation exposure. | uk |
