PROTEIN METABOLISM UNDER CONDITIONS OF TOXINS OF AMANITA PHALLOIDES
Abstract
The aim of this work is:
• to present an overview of the knowledge on amanitins, including the latest advances that could allow the proposal of new innovative and effective therapeutics;
• to provide a comprehensive review of the mechanisms of toxicity, some biochemical parameters and underlying pathobiochemical mechanisms associated with Amanita phalloides poisoning;
• to performe a systematic review to investigate the effect of the most commonly used antidotes: N-acetylcysteine (NAC), benzylpenicillin (PEN), and silibinin (SIL) on patient outcomes with Amanita phalloides poisoning.
