dc.description.abstract | The post-general anesthesia intensive care is of crucial importance in the postoperative period, since it allows for a close monitoring of the patient's vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate and oxygen saturation. In addition, this allows for a quick recognition and treatment of any complications that may arise, such as respiratory failure, sepsis, or shock. An intensive care unit also provides conditions for pain control, early mobility and nutritional support. Pain control is especially important in the postoperative period, as uncontrolled pain can delay recovery, increase the risk of complications, and lead to chronic pain. Nurses are instrumental in pain management by regularly assessing pain levels, administering appropriate pain medications, and monitoring side effects. To improve the quality of patient's stay in the intensive care unit, nurses can carry out a number of activities. These activities may include regular reassurance and emotional support of patients and their families, encouraging early movement and exercise, and promoting good nutrition and adequate sleep. The aim of the study was to conduct a research study and analysis of the characteristics of nursing work in providing care to post-general anesthesia patients and patients in the intensive care unit. Study objectives. 1. To study the main aspects of intensive care in nursing. 2. To study the special characteristics in the work of an intensive care unit nurse. 3. To investigate the modern principles and options for pain and discomfort control in post-general anesthesia patients. 4. To study and analyze the methods of treatment of critical patients in an intensive care unit. 5. To study the special characteristics of nursing management and leadership in the organization of ICU-based care. Object of research: Patients in the anesthesia and intensive care unit who have been operated upon due to various surgical disease and were on therapy in the early postoperative period. Subject of research: the aspects of nursing work in post-general anesthesia and ICU patient care; the intensity of pain syndrome in the postoperative period; the use of standardized protocols for monitoring pain intensity in postoperative intensive care patients as part of nursing practice; and comparative assessment of pain intensity over the first two days postoperatively in intensive care patients using standardized and conventional protocols. Research methods: the following methods were used to solve the problems of the study: • General clinical methods: the nurse is using general clinical methods such as monitoring the patient's vital signs, monitoring of patient's physical and mental well-being, and checking for any complications or side effects associated with anesthesia or ICU stay. • Collecting history of present disease and general health history: the nurse is collecting a detailed history of the patient's health and present disease, including any prior surgeries or hospital admissions. • Physical examination: the nurse is conducting a thorough physical inspection of the patient to assess their general health, including monitoring of any vital signs, skin color, and other health parameters. • Assessment of the patient's general condition: the nurse assesses the patient's general health status, including their level of consciousness, orientation, and pain level. The nurse also monitors the patient's water and electrolyte balance and nutritional status. • Collecting information on major complaints: the nurse collects information on the patient's major complaints such as pain, discomfort, nausea or other symptoms, and reports them to the physician for further evaluation and treatment. • Special characteristics and analysis of rehabilitation: the nurse monitors the patient's rehabilitation process, including their physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and other activities intended to help them recover after surgery or from illness. • Data comparison: the nurse compares the patient's current status with their previous status to assess any changes or improvements in their health. • Laboratory and instrumental tests: the nurse orders and interprets laboratory tests such as blood and urine tests or imaging studies, to help diagnose any complications or monitor the patient's recovery. • Analytical method: the nurse uses an analytical approach to identify any potential problems or complications, and develop a plan of care to address them. • Statistical methods: the nurse uses statistical methods to analyze and interpret data related to patient outcomes, and uses this information to improve patient care and outcomes. The scientific and practical value of the study. The practical significance of the research paper is to study the aspects of intensive care in nursing, the characteristics of nursing work in an intensive care unit, the investigation of modern principles and options for pain and discomfort control in post-general anesthesia patients; to study and analyze the methods of treatment used in critical patients in an ICU setting; and to investigate and analyze the special characteristics of nursing management and leadership in the organization of ICU-based care. | uk |
