dc.description.abstract | Nursing process is playing a most important role in working with older patients in specialized institutions. It provides a systematic basis for delivering individualized and holistic care. By assessing the physical, emotional, and social needs of elderly patients, diagnosing their health status, planning and implementing appropriate nursing interventions, and evaluating their outcomes, nurses can provide patient-centered care and contribute to the general well-being of elderly patients Patients in different elderly care institutions and with various diseases were the object of research in this study. We have been investigating the role of nursing process in basic and professional nursing care for older patients that reside in elderly care institutions. Methods have been employed such as observation, physical examination, general health status, collection of information on principal complaints, comparison, the specific aspects and analysis of patient rehabilitation in nursing homes, laboratory, instrumental and/or imaging assessments; interview; analytical method; and methods of statistical analysis. Our study enrolled 234 older patients with various medical conditions who were receiving care in residential institutions such as nursing homes. In that setting, we have been investigating the prevalence of disease in nursing home patients and studied the tested approaches to their care. Nursing process facilitates delivery of patient-centered care, improves communication and collaboration between the members of the health team, and promotes health improvements in elderly patients. The data obtained emphasize the importance of evidence-based practices, interdisciplinary approaches and continuous professional development to effectively address the complex needs of elderly patients. The study has identified several opportunities for improvement of care for elderly patients in specialized institutions. By using these opportunities, special facilities for the elderly can improve the quality of care, increase patient satisfaction, and create a supportive environment for the well-being of elderly patients. A study of holistic approaches to nursing care in institutions for elderly patients has been conducted. The data obtained emphasize the importance of person-centered care, therapeutic communication, encouraging independence and autonomy, facilitation of social connections and providing emotional support to elderly patients. Through the use of holistic approaches, health care professionals can enhance the overall quality of care, increase patient satisfaction and improve the well-being of elderly patients in specialized institutions. | uk |
